Who We Are
The Registered Nurses Association in Michigan is an professional organization open to all registered nurses and nursing students. Members hail from the Upper Peninsula in the north, to Detroit and Kalamazoo to the south. RNs of every clinical setting, position, specialty and interest area are welcome to join. Nursing students are also encouraged to be an integral part of this organization, whether studying in a basic RN program or completing a doctorate in nursing!
Current members include hospital staff nurses, administrators, educators, home health and hospice nurses, public health and school nurses, oncology and cardiac rehabilitation specialists, nurse practitioners, nursing researchers, unit managers, parish nurses, obstetric, pediatric, psychiatric and geriatric nurses, medical-surgical nurses, nurse entrepreneurs, nurse attorneys, retired nurses, as well as many others.
RN-AIM is also fortunate to count Magnet Status appraisers, Chief Nursing Officers, and published authors within its ranks. Since a primary goal of this organization is to coordinate and guide mentorship of nurses, every member is encouraged to identify his or her unique skills and expertise that could be shared with other RNs. RN-AIM is surely a "Community of Leadership" and every registered nurse is a leader!
What We Are
Founded in August, 2005, RN-AIM is a professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in nursing practice and healthcare in Michigan.
The mission of RN-AIM is three-fold:
· Improve health status and availability of health services to all.
· Foster high standards and excellence of nursing practice.
· Stimulate and promote the professional development of nurses.
As a wonderfully unique, responsive, diverse and affordable association, RN-AIM's primary focus is on connecting nurses. Eight land-based geographical regions and a ninth "cyber" region allow busy professionals to participate in whatever format is most convenient for them. Local districts provide relaxed, informative and supportive networking opportunities. Each autumn, RN-AIM hosts an Annual Conference Assembly where learning is fun and leading is comfortable. Nursing students are welcome at all RN-AIM events and meetings.
Four Councils conduct the professional work of the organization, including:
· Administration & Education
· Excellence in Nursing Practice
· Public Policy
· Research and Evidence Based Practices
RN-AIM members are offered many opportunities for support, continuing education, involvement, advocacy and leadership.
